Jagatsinghpur has a temperate climate, with cold winters that last from November to February and hot and humid summers that last from March to May. It is also prone to cyclonic rainfalls during the monsoons.Hence it’s advisable to travel the region in between November to March when temperature remains relatively cool.

Sarala Pitha (Jhankad)

Sarala is considered as a spiritual place as it is the sanctum sanctorum of Goddess Sarala. It is believed to be the blend of the divine figures of Durga and Sarswati because of which the culture of Sarala incorporates three principal Hindu cults namely Tantrik, Vedic and Vaishnavite. It is also one of most famous shrines in Odisha. This place has high historical importance, so if you’re a historical buff this place is a must see.

Paradeep

If you’re looking to soak up the sun and get your feet wet, this is the place for you. Paradeep is one of the most famous beaches in Orissa. It is also an important port for trade activities. Its serene beauty almost makes it look unreal. It is covered with the beauty of the sea, enchanting green forests of estuarian islands of the river Mahanadi and charming creeks. Sandhakuda

What makes this attraction different from the rest is instead of monuments, this tourist spot mostly consists of vast green shades of vegetation, shimmering golden beaches, natural creeks and island. The Gorekhanath temple and the Jagannath Temple of Garoi are the two most attractive temples in Jagatsinghpur. Apart from Paradeeep another popular beach is the Siali beach which has people flocking there almost every season. It is one of the most popular picnic spots in the district. Gada Kujanga

Also known as Subhadra Kshetra, Garh Kujanga is famous for its presiding deity Kunja Behari. What adds to this attraction is the Raghunath Jew Matha which is located nearby. You can make avail of accommodation facilities at Forest Rest House, Kujanga, RD Bunglow, Kujanga. The nearest banks are Alhabad Bank and SBI available at Kujanga. The nearest Hospital is P.H.C, Kujanga, which tourists can use for medical facilities in case of emergencies.

How to reach Jagatsinghpur ?

There is a railway line that links Paradip from Cuttack. There is a train service from Jagatsinghpur town which is the Gorekhnath Station that is about 10 km from Jagatsinghpur but it is not frequent so it’s best to go by bus. There are plenty of buses from Jagatsinghpur bus stands which are Paradeep, Machhagaon, Naugaon, Naharana, Baharana, tandikul, Katara, Sidhala, Rourkela, Puri, Kakatapur, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Balasore and Kolkata. There are also frequent bus services available from Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Bhadrak and Balasore.
